St Therese Year 6 Leaders

SUSTAINABILITY / ENVIRONMENT LEADER

Number of positions: 2

Duration of job: 12 months

Job Description:

As a Sustainability / Environment Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside Mr McCarthy, 5/6 Teachers and a group of Year 6 students that will work alongside you and help with tasks, organisation, etc.

Duties:

  • General tidiness of the school grounds.
  • Make sure the correct bins are being used across the school.
  • Organising regular whole school clean-ups, designating areas.
  • Updates at school assemblies
  • Help organise “Clean-up Australia Day”
  • Make sure sustainability signs are visible and on display throughout school.
  • Help with newsletter updates.
  • Collate data and evidence for ‘Nude Food Fridays’ and ‘Walk to School Wednesdays’
  • Promote and drive sustainability in our school.
  • Organise and run lunchtime activities – gardening/cooking etc.

ICT LEADER

Number of positions: 2

Duration of job: 12 months

Job Description:

As an ICT Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside Mrs Robertson and a group of Year 6 students who will help with tasks, organisation, etc.

Duties:

  • Help with software downloads and updates.
  • Become experts in new software or technology and teach others.
  • Run workshops in other year levels if and when the need arises.
  • Help to keep ICT equipment checked in/out, charged and maintained in good condition.
  • Actively promote being “Cyber Safe” across the school.
  • Promote yourselves at assemblies.
  • Promote appropriate use of technology for learning.

ASSEMBLY LEADER

Number of positions: 2

Duration of job: 12 months

Job Description:

As an Assembly Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

 

You will work alongside other Year 6 students to organise assemblies, tasks, etc.

 

Duties:

  • Meet with the Team Leader for each Year level and help organise their presentations. This may involve actually running the assembly or just assisting.
  • Promote assemblies – students, teachers, parents.
  • Set-up the hall – chairs, IWB, tables, microphone, etc
  • Promote the school at assemblies.
  • Help with newsletter updates.
  • Organise running sheets.
  • Set-up the hall for other events and functions.
  • Announcements- Over the P.A in regards to school events.
  • Always present in a professional manner.

SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADER

Number of positions: 2

Duration of job: 12 months

Job Description:

As a Social Justice Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside 5/6 Teachers a group of Year 6 students that will work alongside you and help with tasks, organisation, etc.

Duties:

  • Help promote and organise Mission Day.
  • Help forge strong connections with “Elouera”
  • Be involved in fundraisers.
  • Help promote PnF fundraisers (if needed)
  • Help forge strong connections with Vietnam
  • Be involved with Meals on Wheels.
  • Help promote our school in local newspapers.
  • Make strong links with the local community, making St Therese aware of local events, fundraisers, etc.
  • Make connections with St Therese Parish
  • Promote yourselves at assemblies.
  • Help with newsletter updates.
  • Help with open days.

St Therese Year 6 Leaders

SPORTS LEADER

Number of positions: 8 (2 per house)

Duration of job: 12 months

 

Job Description:

As a Sports Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend regular fortnightly SRC meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with a teacher. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside teachers and a group of Year 6 students that will work alongside you and help with tasks, organisation, etc.

Duties:

  • Help keep the sports shed neat and tidy.
  • Locate and look after sports equipment.
  • Organise and run Sport Carnivals / Tabloid Sports with other Year levels.
  • Be actively involved with Interschool Sports.
  • Organise, run and umpire games at lunch times.
  • Assist Mr Low in the lead up and on the day of the Athletics Carnival.
  • Take an active role with your House Team at the Athletics Carnival, supporting younger students and encouraging those around you.
  • Promote yourselves at assemblies.
  • Help with newsletter updates.
  • Help with P.E as the need arises.
  • Offer assistance on Thursday and Friday mornings to set-up for P.E.
  • Creative Play Support during recess and lunch
  • Create a timetable for committee to help with Sport in Term 1.

BUDDY LEADER

Job Description:

As a Buddy Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside teachers and a group of Year 6 students that will work alongside you and help with tasks, organisation, etc.

 

Duties:

  • Help to organise lunchtime activities with Preps.
  • Watch out for children from other year levels at morning tea and lunch time. Make sure they have someone to play with and are involved.
  • Promote yourselves at assemblies.
  • Help with newsletter updates.
  • Help with open days.
  • Create a timetable for committee to help with Art in Term 1.

WELL BEING LEADER

Number of positions: 2

Duration of job: 12 months

Job Description:

As an Events Leader you will be a valued member of the Student Representative Council (SRC). It will be expected that you will attend meetings either during a morning tea or lunch break with various teachers. You will be provided with a badge so that others in the school are aware that you are a member of the SRC.

You will work alongside teachers and a group of Year 6 students that will work alongside you and help with tasks, organisation, etc.

 

Duties:

  • Provide peer support during lunch time.
  • Collecting feedback from other year levels to give them a voice on our school.
  • Promoting inclusiveness in our school.
  • Lunch Time events e.g chess club, book club, knitting club, games club
  • Creating and initiating lunch time events
  • Collaborate with other groups to plan school events
