Meg and Maddie with their medal haul from the gymnastics competition this weekend.

Congratulations to Meg and Maddie, who had great success this weekend at the State 4 gymnastics competition. Meg came 2nd on floor and 6th overall, while Maddie got 3rd on beam and 4th overall. The girls team won the competition overall which earned them this beautiful trophy and medals. Congratulations to these “terrifically twisty” young girls.

    Will with his bronze medal

Congratulations to Will on coming 3rd this weekend in Kumite at the State GKR karate competition which was held in Geelong. If you win enough medals in the state competitions, it qualifies you to compete in the Worlds.Good luck Will and we hope you make it to the Worlds.

Throughout term 2, some of our students competed in an online chess competition with Mr Gibbons. In that competition, Liam earned the necessary 17 points, to qualify him to compete in the mega finals. Liam took part in this on the weekend and out of 26 competitors, Liam came out with the highest score. This means Liam goes to the Giga finals, followed by the Terra finals, which has a prize of $1000. Good luck Liam.

Prep story book performances on PhotoPeach

What a lovely afternoon we had today, being invited over to the hall, to see the performances by the prep students, of their favourite stories. Congratulations to Mr Caddy and all the prep students, for their gorgeous performances as well as to their teachers and parents, who helped with the costumes. Everyone in the audience had big broad smiles on their faces and the clapping at the end of each performance, indicated just how much we appreciated the time and effort that had gone into the preparation for the shows. Thanks for the invite preppies and Mr Caddy.

  10. Congratulations Xavier

    July 16, 2013 by mmurnane

Over the school holidays, Xavier competed in two surf competitions in Queensland and northern NSW. The Occy and Skull Candy Oz grom open are the 2 premier junior surf competitions in the southern hemisphere. They have run annually for the last 10 years, with Skull Candy/Rusty competition for the past 15 years. Notable previous winners are Julian Wilson, Owen Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons.

The Occy competition was run in large surf at D-Bar and Xavier was fortunate to make it to the 1/4 finals and placed 3rd in that heat. Xavier placed 7th overall in this comp.
The Skull Candy competition was at Lennox Head. Most of the competitors from Qld also attended as well. Xavier made it through all the way to the finals, in the under 12 division, surfing extremely well through out the competition. He placed 3rd in the final, which is a great achievement.
In December 2013, Xavier will be one of two, who will compete in the under 14 Australian junior surf titles, which will be held in Kiama, NSW.

Congratulations Xav – this is an awesome effort.
