 Camp Shenanigans…

What fun we had prowling for possums, cooking pizza and damper, throwing boomerangs, learning about frogs and furry critters, tasting bush tucker and making new friends. And they are just a few of the things we got up to!

The Sustainability Team did a great job of sorting, classifying and recording the rubbish and they will report on the collection at our next assembly.

Clean Up Australia Day 2013
On Friday the 3rd March 2012 it was a national Clean Up Australia Day. A group of year 6 students were lead by the stainability leaders around Torquay to collect as much rubbish as we could. The group of children that went were very enthusiastic and so we were able to collect 9 large bags of rubbish filled to the top. We managed to successfully pick up 42kg of rubbish. The FANTASTIC group that volunteered to help make a difference to Torquay were all very proud of how much rubbish they collected. Here are some photos of the year 6 students happy with their achievements and the rubbish bags that they filled.

I was amazed at how hard the group went about collecting as much rubbish as they could in the 45 minutes we had…Can you believe we filled 10 big bags in that short time and only really on a street or two! It scares me to think how much rubbish we would be able to collect around the whole of Torquay!!! Well done to all involved and very good leadership by the Sustainability team leaders on the day – Decky, Brodie, Derm, Abbey and Harry! Great team effort by all!!!
